Boxercise
Just call me Maggie Fitzgerald, for those of you who have seen Million Dollar Baby. Two days ago I joined a boxing class with Julie, a good friend of ours that is a cop. I have no idea how she talked me into this, but today I am really feeling the effects. I have never in my life thrown a proper punch, especially aiming at a massive 200lb bag, but what better way to loose the extra Silas fat! Holy cow! I thought i was going to die. It's at a gym that is funded by the police academy on the Gold Coast, so we're talking men and women that are fit as fiddles running around this boxing circuit making me look like a complete idiot. I'll help you gain a good mental picture...Imagine a proper boxing gym with like 20 punching bags hanging down, a real boxing ring in the center and about 10 standing bicycles. We go from station to station for an hour and a half without stopping. Going from running laps around the gym, to lunges, crunches, squats, punching, not just straight on but speed punching, upper cuts, right hand only, left hand only and a whole bunch of other terminology that i don't know yet, to lifting free weights, and back again. It's a killer. When we got done I collapsed in my car and thought real hard about calling Stuart to come get me because I didn't think I could safely drive a manual. And two days later, I'm in more pain! I haven't slept for 2 nights because my body is so bruised that I can't turn over in bed! And I am supposed to go back tonight! I'm starting to think real hard about what I have gotten myself in to. The funny thing is, I thought since I have been walking heaps with Silas that I was in pretty good shape. Let the truth be known, you never know what kind of shape you're in until you try boxing.

Shoot!! What a work out! I like that you do lots of diff things and not just the same thing over and over again. You know you will feel better if you do it again tonight. There is something about when you are sore and you work out again your muscles feel better. So good luck tonight! Keep us posted on how tonight goes! Miss you!
Oh my gosh! There was no way that i could go. The trainer told us to go on Friday and give our bodies a break. I couldn't even do ONE squat! He actually said that we would have done damage to the muscles. Today I am finally starting to feel good. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes! Cheers!
