A New Leaf

For some time now I have been wanting to pick up our blog again and start over. And after reading a few of my favorite blogs (My Charming Kids, Bring the Rain) and being incredibly inspired this, right here is me, turning over a new leaf.

I'm not sure if I should just pick up where I left off, or start new. But, I feel like I should fill in some missing spaces to keep things on track.

Let's start here: 9 months after Silas' 1st Birthday we welcomed Josiah Caden Ballantyne to our family. After a very long 28 hour labor (whoever said you're second birth is easier was just wrong) Josiah was born on October 21st, 2007. My mom arrived just hours before he was born. I actually picked her up at the airport while my water was breaking. Nice. I remember crossing the road at the airport very slowly, thinking "please don't run me over, I'm in labor". I'm so happy she made it in time. And next month he'll turn one! Time has gone so incredibly fast. Josiah is our sweet, patient, laid-back baby. He's so content to watch and enjoy. He's rarely demanding and loves his routine and his big brother.

Silas, on the other hand is our adventurous, loud, demanding, gentle firstborn. He has such a sweet spirit and a heart that loves to please. He's a typical 2 year old. Learning boundaries, asks a million questions, loves his cars and trains, and hates sharing his toys with YiYah (Josiah), wakes up to ride his bike or swim in his pool at 6am, plays outsides all day long, reads at least 3 books before bed and everything has a color. I love this age. I love that he is learning about Jesus. To hear him pray puts a lump in my throat each time.

So, for now...that's a small catch-up on the Ballantyne's. We are loving our season in life at the moment. We don't know where we'll be in few months time, but we are resting in Jesus and trusting in hearing God's voice.

I'm so excited you are picking up your blog again. I too love the MckMama blog and Angie's blog, very inspiring. Your layout is great, never seen one like it. Happy blogging!

Oh, so it's a NEW (old) blog, I get it! (those of us with more than two kids are a little slow) :)
