Little Bit of Oz

The pretty Lorikeet....
One of the few kookaburras....

The kangaroo family that lives in the woods by our house...

Every morning I am woken up at about 4:30am by the birds singing (laughing) outside my window. The first few mornings i loved it. It was like they were beckoning me to rise and shine and spend time with the Lord. But, now, after months of this,  I need these laughing kookaburras to learn to sleep in.

Not only do we have the laughing kookaburras in our backyard, but also beautiful lorikeets, that have a horrible song, gallah's- these beautiful pink and grey birds. And only once did this family of kangaroos happen upon my front yard, well more like across the street.

As much as I would like to sleep in past 4:30am, I have come to really love the nature in Australia. I'm not really a nature person, per-say, I mean, I love the woods and hiking and stuff, but i'm usually not moved in my spirit over nature. Now, my friend Ez, she could sit for hours watching a sunset and every eagle the girl sees sends her to her rock (haha). I may not be moved like that, but I have come to really love these beautiful birds and kangaroos in my yard.
